About

Our origins

Medici Strategic Portfolio Management was founded at the end of 2008 by Carl Simard and Dany Foster. Carl had the opportunity to meet many financial advisors when he worked as a partner for StockPointer, and at the time he noticed that many players in this industry ignored fundamental analysis, which had long been used by legendary investors. Carl also decried the lack of accountability and transparency of many financial advisors towards their clients. After a period of consideration, Carl and Dany founded Medici in order to offer the kind of service they would’ve wanted to receive as clients of a portfolio management firm.

Our approach

Today, over 900 families and organizations entrust the management of their assets to Medici. Medici’s private management approach means that the entire team offers a highly personalized service based on transparency and accountability. Our managers take care of clients in the same way that they would like to be treated, and they invest their own personal money in the same securities that they purchase for their clients. Every year, our team meets clients on an individual basis to ensure that their objectives are met.
